01/04/2009
For fans of the German Football League team, 1899 Hoffenheim, which appropriately stirred things up as rising star in Germany’s elite league in the season 2008/09, FÖRCH is long since become a household name. FÖRCH, the specialist for consumables, workshop equipment, work protective equipment, workshop chemicals, DIN and standardized parts, electric and electronic parts, has been a promoter of the team from Kraichgau for years. But for FÖRCH this is no reason not to expand its involvement in professional sport in other directions. Beginning on 16 May 2009, the start of the new season of the SEAT Leon Supercopa at the Hockenheimring, the company name of Theo Förch GmbH & Co. KG from Neuenstadt can be found on all racing cars and in the surroundings of the popular DTM partner series. In the sixth year of the Supercopa, FÖRCH will be new Premium Partner of the Spanish brand cup, and thus underscore once again its close relationship to professional sport, which portrays the profile of this young and dynamic company in such an ideal way. “We are very much looking forward to working together”, says SEAT motor sport manager, Oliver Schielein. “Because based on its technical expertise in the area of vehicle consumables and workshop equipment, FÖRCH is the ideal partner in motor sport.“
For more than 45 years FÖRCH has been marketing its products primarily in the area of vehicle, construction and metal trades, as well as in industry and plant workshops. With 220 million euros in annual sales, more than 40,000 articles, around 1,850 employees, thereof around 1,150 working as field staff, the company is one of the leading providers in the branch. The teams in the SEAT Leon Supercopa receive articles from FÖRCH at special terms. Materials from the product areas of lubricating, sealing, bonding, cleaning as well as body and paint care, in particular, are made available at all the racing circuits.
The SEAT Leon Supercopa is a prime example of series-production-based technology and motor sport. Identical Leons, based on the Cupra 2.0T FSI, each featuring powerful 300 HP turbo engines, set the stage for fair and exciting competitions during the total of 16 qualifying runs. The gear system of the racing version of the SEAT Leon is based on a sequential 6-gear transmission, and has sophisticated aerodynamics equipment consisting of front splitter, rear diffuser and rear spoiler. Some of the mostly young drivers in the SEAT Leon Supercopa have been successful in recent years in the jump into professional motor sport.
